I made my way to observe it from up-close, and was immediately enchanted. The painting’s name was “The Magic Circle”, and it portrayed a sole sorceress mid-spell, surrounded by nature and energy. The mystique aura, dark colors and mythical symbolism sparked my inspiration. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eAfter leaving the exhibition, I thought about the positive representation of the powerful woman with spiritual abilities, and how it stood in complete contrast to the heinous witch hunts of the 13th through 18th centuries and the misogynistic stereotypes that fueled them. I wanted to preserve that positive image, and to make it a core motive in this collection. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe designs in the “Black Magic” collection, much like the style of the Pre-Raphaelites, are abundant in detail and feature intense colours.
